Writing News - Writing East Midlands to take over Leicester Writing School

WSL has delivered part-time courses and advice to the region’s writers from its central Leicester base in the Adult Education College on Wellington Street for 60 years. For the last 15 of these it has been ably run by Val Moore who is now approaching retirement.

The school welcomes writers at any stage in their development and is one of the only schools of its kind in the country.

Henderson Mullin, CEO of Writing East Midlands, said “We’re really excited about WSL’s work and their long record of giving confidence to new writers and re-invigorating established writers. WSL is a great fit with our mission of encouraging writing from the region and we’re really looking forward to helping the business grow both in Leicester, and in other places, over the next few years.”

WEM’s Writer Development Manager, Aimee Wilkinson, has worked with Val to programme the summer, autumn and spring courses, which are now open for bookings. Aimee will be responsible for the day to day running of the school.
